This has been a pretty lame summer for my boys...I'm not going to lie. The first half of the summer I was feeling sick from pregnancy. The second half of the summer I was feeling sick/sad/recovering from surgery/heartbroken. And when I look back on the summer of 2012 it probably won't be with much fondness all things considered. However there have been some great times. Almost everyday after quiet time the boys and I sat outside in the mini pool and sprinkler to cool off when it was 90+ degrees! We took a family walk almost every night. This last week before school we have done a lot! We have gone to the beach twice. We went to the pool with Emily and Carson. We went to a campground grill out with Grandpa Dan and Lysa. We went to Grandmamas and Papas for aunt beans bday. We took our trip to Maryland in the early summer which was a lot of fun. But we are ready for the fall. Logan is very excited for second grade. His new teacher is a MSU fan and in response to to that he made me take him to get a Michigan shirt to wear the first day of school...wonder where he gets his tenacity;) Gavin is excited to go see Miss Monica and all his daycare friends again. I am so excited to start a new school year with old and new students. I love my job and I think making a difference in my students lives is really going to help me right now. Scott has already been back to work! He has been going non stop since last week and loving every minute of it. One of the things I respect so much about Scott is he hasn't lost his initial vision on education. It has remained the same from being a teacher to an administrator. He has wanted to make a difference in the kids lives...especially the "challenging" kids. And now as an administrator he is even more driven to make a difference in the students lives. Even as he has moved on from teaching to administration he has not lost his drive to make a positive difference in students lives and I admire that so much about him. Its so easy to get lost in the politics of education...but Scott has never really been interested in that...he has been interested in how what he does will impact the students in a positive way....and my prayer for him is that vision will never change. His drive, integrity and love for his job is that to be admired.
As far as my health...right now my numbers for my HCG levels are low...they were at 15 a few weeks ago which is a really good sign. I have another blood draw on Wednesday so please keep the prayers coming for low or even more, no HCG levels. As my friend Emily said when I told her about my lower numbers..."its time to be cautiously optimistic" which is exactly what I will try to do.
We anxiously await the arrival of Baby Girl Baar and Baby Girl Bush this fall.
Our church finally hired a full time pastor. Kent Dobson. Who was exactly who Scott and I were hoping for. We are very excited for the future of our church.
So as a close to a difficult summer I find myself looking forward to a great fall full of new promises and good times. God says he will not give you more then you can handle...which I sometimes would have had challenged him on that...but at the same time during my hardest times, darkest hours, pain, healing, and more pain I have never felt alone. God doesn't promise that you will not go through hard times...and God does promise He will not give you more then you can handle...and most importantly when it feels like He has given you more then you can handle...He promises to walk with you through those valleys...He promises that he will carry you. So here is too a great fall...full of smiles, laughter, new life and great memories...and hey its almost hockey season!!!!!
