Recall/Chicago trip

Scott received his recall letter this week!  A huge answered prayer!  He will be back full time teaching next fall!  And he also received tenure this year!  He is an amazing teacher and he loves his job.  I have never heard him complain about work once!  I am so proud of him!  Baseball just finished for him as well.  They had a lot of cancelled games due to rain but they had a great record this year!  Several wins, not many loses!  Go Hopkins!

For mother's day/birthdays my dad gave my mom, Christine and I a trip to Chicago!  We took the train which was really nice.  The hotel was gorgeous!  On our first day we went to Dick's Last Resort which was a blast...you actually are expected to be sarcastic its hilarious!  We did a little bit of shopping.  Then we went to see the Blue Man Group.  That was a lot of fun.  They are so funny!  Just their expressions are funny.  We had a lot of fun.  After that Christine and I walked down to Navy Pier so she could get some cool pictures.  It was really pretty down there because everything was all lite up.  On our way back to the hotel it started to rain.  And it pretty much continued through the whole weekend!

On Saturday we got up and had some breakfast.  Then we headed down to the magnificent mile to do some shopping.  Once we ran out of money (which didn't take too long haha) headed back to the hotel, stopped for some lunch then took some naps.  In the evening the hotel hosted a free cocktail party so we went to that for a little while.  While I was in line I met a woman who had a "lost change fund".  Every time she found change she puts it in this fund.  She has collected 85 dollars over three months and when she gets to 100 she is going to give it to a charity!  Its so fun to meet interesting people!  After the cocktail party we got all dressed up to go to the Signature room for dinner at the Hancock building.  That was delicious and we got birthday treats!  And of course the view was amazing!  It was a great night!

On Sunday morning Christine and I headed to Millennium Park to get some pictures before the rain started up again.  We just made it to the Mirror Bean and it started to pour!  We were stranded for about 20 minutes under the bean with tons of other people....once it started to lightning we decided to high tail it out of there!  Giant metal sculptures are not the best thing to be under in a lightning storm:)  So we hailed a cab (we took so many cabs because it was always raining! And the cabbies drive crazy!)  went and got mom and went to lunch at the cheesecake factory.  Then we did a little more shopping to kill some time before we had to catch the train.  While we were walking it was raining and a woman chased me down and gave me her umbrella.  I thought she thought I dropped it and I told her I didn't drop it and she said it was hers and she was giving it to me!  What a friendly gesture!  Time for me to pay it forward!  I had a lot of fun on our trip!  It was nice to relax, shop and have fun with my sister and my mom!

2nd Birthday/Sports

Gavin turned two this year!  Time sure does fly!  We had a great time at his birthday party.  We rented a hotel so all the kids could swim and the adults could relax.  It was a lot of fun!  Some of his favorite things to do right now are play outside...and chase his brother haha. He also likes to move the kitchen chairs to get stuff on the counter such as watches and keys and proceed to throw them in the sink. Gavin is a sneaky yet very smart little guy!

Logan has been very busy with sports!  Soccer just finished and we are half way through tee ball.  He loved soccer and can't wait for it to start again in the fall.  Tee ball is a little slow for his style but he still loves to go play at the games!

Summer vacation is only a few two weeks away!  I am looking forward to spending my days with the boys!
